Job Description

The Director of Technology Innovation and Simplification will plan, design and migrate the company's technology assets and processes to the next generation digital platform and operating model.  Key outcomes for this role include application simplification, using a systemic approach working with IT and business leaders to reduce the complexity of the IT footprint by eliminating or consolidating applications into more current technologies; defining and implementing the digital IT management and investment roadmap, using automation to create a business case for IT to transition to a digital operating model to lower costs and improve resilience; leading value engineering efforts, define standards for systems and environments that ensure cost and the cost of resilience are balanced.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Defines best practices, lessons learned and constantly updates the technical system architecture roadmap based on changing technologies specifically hyper scale, cloud and automation
  • Creates a learning roadmap to build digital skills and practices in the IT organization to increase the level of automation of IT work.
  • Understands technology product and vendor strategies and translate this into actionable steps on the technology roadmap
  • Identifies and recommends areas appropriate for further exploration and participates/leads proof of concept projects required to explore business value and define quantitative benefits of the adoption
  • Recommends and participates in the design and implementation of standards, tools and methodologies
  • Participates in the design and implementation of IT service management standards, tools and methodologies
  • Leads the update and management of the Service Now platform
  • Leads the resilience program for Nature’s Bounty infrastructure ensuring that requirements are aligned to business requirements
  • Manages the scrum leads and owns the transition of the IT organization to an agile delivery model
  • Ensure that all IT policies are updated and the IT organization is trained on how to apply them 
  • Lead value engineering efforts for infrastructure and technology services
NOTE:  this role can be based in our office in Bohemia, NY, or Florham, Park, NJ.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT leadership experience managing internal teams and outsourced staff
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the following: technology value engineering, technology simplification, cloud migrations, technology automation and defining technology roadmaps
  • 3+ years of experience using Agile methodologies
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering) or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
  • Practical experience developing business and technical strategy, transitional roadmaps
  • Hands on experience in the use of technologies in support of IT automation, specifically managing data in data lakes, networking and security architecture, cloud migrations to either AWS or Azure, data center automation technologies, and IT ops automation and the concept of “data center as code”
  • Ability to work with broad guidance and manage multiple priorities
  • Transformation orientation with the demonstrated ability to lead teams to learn new skills and apply them
  • Ability to work with an integrated team of customers, product managers, implementation specialists and engineers
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to interact at all levels of the organization, both internal and external
