Job Description

The Mgr., Document Compliance Control is responsible for overseeing the establishment and maintenance of the documentation management activities.  As a member of the Global Quality Compliance Group, you will provide global oversight and guidance of the documentation processes and provide appropriate metrics to measure compliance.

  • The position will have responsibility for managing, maintaining and improving the document control program within the Quality Management System to ensure The Nature’s Bounty Co. is compliant with all applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining the document control program within the Quality Management System in a regulated environment.
  • Oversee the approval process of documents, ensuring appropriate templates are utilized, and that company documents are routed, reviewed, approved, distributed, controlled and implemented in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review documents for accuracy and completeness in formatting and content and ensuring all network sites documents are aligned to the Corporate Policies, Guidelines & SOPs.
  • Participate in implementation and maintenance of the electronic document control system, working in close collaboration with the IT system administrator.
  • Monitor all aspects of the ongoing effectiveness of documentation system & program and identify and implement improvements as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training on the document control system and processes to all cross-functional department users.
  • Ensures company records are retained and available for use in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist in the creation, revision, and approval of documents.
  • Manage the Document Center for compliant retention of quality records.  Oversee the collection, scanning, uploading, and destruction of quality records.
  • Oversee and coordinate the archiving and destruction of documentation for off-site secured storage.
  • Develop and publish key metrics and report to management on the status of the Document Control Program.
  • Coordinate, schedule, conduct, and facilitate document review meetings and ensuring that all appropriate parties are invited and represented in accordance with approved policies.
  • Provide mentoring and direction to direct reports, annual performance reviews.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Dietary Supplements (21 CFR 111 & 117) including knowledge of 21 CFR part 11, data integrity assurance and auditing of electronic data and systems.
  • Support internal and external audit activities including FDA Inspections, Customer audits and USP/UL certification/surveillance audits.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Job Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Science or other related field/discipline.  Extensive and significant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.Minimum of 10 years of experience in the industry (food, pharmaceutical, medical device or dietary supplements)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory and/or managerial role.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in document control, including 2 years supervision.
  • Experience working with electronic document control systems preferred.
  • Previous experience with the implementation of electronic management systems and 21CFR11 are a strong plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. 
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System processes and applicable regulations.  Familiarity with FDA Quality Management System Regulations, 21 CFR Part 111/117.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional departments.
