Job Description

In this role as a Supply Planning Manager you will be responsible for optimizing the supply planning network by overseeing the planning department, processes, systems, cadence, and analytics to drive cross-functional collaboration, capture key business and supply planning insights, and create integrated, aligned, stable, and agile supply and inventory plans with the sites to efficiently meet the business’ service level targets.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages designated planning network team which consists of Site Planners and/or Site Buyers and will be collaborating closely with the Site Plant Manager, Schedulers, Commodity Managers and/or outside suppliers.
  • Support department annual goals and KPIs
  • Partner with procurement, supply &demand and inventory to develop / adjust inputs for production planning
  • Understand future capacity, supply constraints affecting production & lead development of recovery plans
  • Escalate information about shortages or excesses of inventory levels to Network Lead and work with Lead to advise commercial team
  • Identify and escalate the need to break into the frozen plan
  • Use Oracle to create/maintain vendor/customer production requirements to ensure inventory levels and on time customer delivery
  • Lead presentations to varying audiences regarding team initiatives, training and issue resolution
  • Participate with Procurement in resolution of key material deliveries issues from external vendors to ensure production plans are executed and aligned with demand
  • Responsible for feedback and identification of counter measures for any PSA and CFR issues and /or inventory risk, with communication within the network
  • Participate in the alignment of demand/supply plan to Operations
  • Participate in the S&OP process
  • Examine performance metrics and escalated exceptions messages to prioritize planning issues and create countermeasures in order to achieve kpi targets, conducting root cause analysis as needed to identify systemic issues
  • Manage and develop designated team and collaborate closely with site leadership and schedulers
  • Serve as active member of the site leadership team and support the HPS journey
  • Support optimization of the Supply Planning Network, partnering with the Network Lead and key stakeholders
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required (Master's degree preferred)
  • 4 - 7 years of planning experience
  • 2 - 3 years experience leading supply planning activities to include purchasing, planning and scheduling in a process manufacturing environment
  • APICS Certification preferred
  • Experience managing master data maintenance processes
  • Understanding of manufacturing resource planning and material requirements planning
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP planning tools (Oracle preferred)
  • Proficient with PC Programs (Word, Excel, PPT), with advanced Excel capabilities (e.g., using formulas)
  • AS400 knowledge
  • Quantitative, analytical, statistical and problem solving skills using quality tools, with ability to draw business planning conclusions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to lead and work as effective team member
  • Proactive and results oriented within a fast moving dynamic environment
