The QA Floor Inspector is responsible for ensuring products are being produced in a manner that meets all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Product Specification criteria. This enables improved first pass quality and adherence to cGMPs on the production floor at all times. The Inspector acts as the quality expert on the production floor and will guide and advise operation associates, as needed, on cGMP’s and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) to ensure timely release of product or reaction to issues.

This is a 3rd shift role, Sunday through Thursday 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs in-process testing verifications of manufacturing/packaging data to confirm consistency in testing methodology and test data
  • Submit daily analytical and micro samples to QC for appropriate testing
  • Performs AQL as required
  • When required, conducts approval of pre-start-up activities including line/room clearance and initial equipment checks
  • Consistently reviews in-process batch documentation to ensure real-time compliance to product specifications, good documentation practices, company SOPs and cGMPs
  • Discusses errors directly with line personnel so corrections can be made if required
  • Reviews production log books for accuracy and compliance
  • Ensures all associates strictly follow SOPs, GDPs and cGMPs
  • Performs review and release of batch orders/work orders
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains exceptional work attendance
  • Performs daily compliance audit and Gemba walk for all applicable areas
  • Conduct duties in compliance with safety rules, applicable SOPs and cGMP guidelines
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years prior Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment functionality, Quality Assurance Systems, software such as Oracle, AS400, PQM and Captiva preferred
  • High organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Basic computer knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) required
  • Understanding of mathematical functions such as mean, median, average and standard deviation preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions
  • Exhibit positive attitude regarding work and responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
  • Continuously look for walks to do things faster and better, while maintaining high quality standards
  • Is creative and intellectually curious; tries different and novel ways to solve obstacles
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc. within a warehouse/manufacturing environment
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish)
