Job Description

The Nature's Bounty Co.'s Creative Services group is responsible for bringing to life the brand voices through branding, packaging, traditional creative and digital content.  The Senior Director of Branding & Design will lead an internal and freelance creative team and provide team leadership, creative/design direction and feedback, and administrative oversight while ensuring our brand’s business objectives are met.  This person will be responsible for the stewardship and leadership of creative development and quality of our company’s brand systems/brand books, packaging, new product concept images, 3D renders, production packaging readiness, merchandising/display and other design activation deliverables. 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Establishing overall design direction for brand projects, synthesize and translate creative briefs to the team, orchestrate all design aspects, and coordinate all constituents.
  • Developing and owning the brand guidelines for all current and future brands.
  • Partnering with internal brand teams to align on annual branding and design objectives and ensure sufficient team resources to meet the brand’s goals and business objectives.
  • Providing strategic guidance for design work developed with external agencies.
  • Ensuring and maintaining a consistent, high quality level of design work for all assigned brands including but not limited to packaging re-design, brand books, brand line extensions, new product concepts, Free Standing Inserts (FSIs), Displays, and sales materials.
  • Efficiently managing creative resources across internal resources and freelancers and balance workload across the franchises
  • Providing creative direction for the design team, translating business strategy and brand objectives and other key elements from creative brief into design strategy.
  • Ensuring all design work is production ready and develop 3D renders for use in content development.
  • Managing various administrative aspects for the team including but not limited to managing and approving invoices, maintaining department budgets.
  • Managing the creative team including establishing annual goals, identifying capabilities gaps and developmental needs and providing feedback (formal and informal) via reviews and 1:1s.
  • Partnering with and provide Director, Creative Content, with brand guidelines to support internal content development team and ensure the content work fits within brand guidelines
  • Partnering with the Production Art team to ensure brand guidelines are maintained across all packaging executions and new designs adhere to internal and external guidelines and regulations.
  • Scoping projects accurately and establish project plans with project manager, digital managers and/or brand team.
  • Managing the team, ensuring that quality is high, milestones are met and that the team is appropriately utilized.

Job Requirements

  • 15+ years of creative, design and branding experience
  • Compelling branding and design experience within an agency setting
  • 8+ years of experience effectively managing and leading direct reports and cross functional teams
  • Full versatility in both print and web design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated track record of being an innovative thinker contributing and leading on-target creative that is well received by a client and pushes smart creativity that gets noticed by both consumers and the industry
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, finite internal and external resources and budgets
  • Experience managing an internal creative team on the client side a plus
  • Experience with budget management strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; a major in Art, Design, Communications or related field strongly preferred; Master’s Degree a plus
