The Sr. Finance Director for the U.S. Sales team will be the key business partner for Sales Leadership and will play a key role in the Customer Leadership Team.  Note that this position can be based in either Ronkonkoma, NY, or Florham, Park, NJ.  

Responsibilities include:

  • The performance management, forecasting, and steering value creation for the business in the areas of Gross Sales, Trade Investment, and Net Sales. 
  • Through strong analytics and objectivity, will make recommendations and influence decisions that maximize value for the business.  Key focus areas include strategic pricing, price pack architecture, customer trade terms, trade investment optimization, customer profitability, and SG&A optimization.
  • Lead efforts in the areas of process simplification and excellence, maximizing the use of our financial information systems, and ensuring strong business risk management and financial controls.                   
  • Serve as a strategic business partner, bringing an understanding of Finance, value creation and business drivers.  Provide an objective view on the business to ensure decisions are fact based, supported by strong analytics.
  • Provide financial analysis to steer business decisions including but not limited to formulation of pricing and trade promotion strategies, price pack architecture, customer trade terms, customer contracts, product mix optimization.
  • Bring an external focus to the business including analysis of the marketplace, competitor, and retailer impacts to our business
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset with a focus on simplification of the way we work including business processes, use of systems, and organization. 
  • Analyze financial results and key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate results to leadership.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional business partners
  • Provide financial leadership on special projects related to business development, strategic growth and ad hoc analysis.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of related financial planning and analysis experience with increasing responsibility and control
  • Prior work experience in FP&A, supporting Brands, Supply Chain, Sales, or Financial Planning is required;  at least one role in Sales Finance is preferred
  • Strong experience in the CPG industry required
  • Focus on trade promotion spend optimization and other CPG relevant priorities highly preferred
  • Experience in business planning and forecasting required
  • Experience creating and implementing process improvement solutions
  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience communicating effectively with all levels leadership, and experience communicating with all levels of financial acumen
  • Strong developer of talent
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with cross functional business teams and build collaborative relationships
