The account focused Demand Planner will be responsible for the execution of successful Brand and Private Label forecasts for base, promo and/or display at a specific retailer. In this position they will work closely with the Sr. Demand Planning Managers, Sales, Merchandising, Display Team, Supply Chain and Distribution. 

  • Understands and owns the overall forecasts for all brands at a specific customer(s)/channel, by reviewing monthly units and dollars at the highest and lowest level.
  • Review historical sales trends, prepare forecast data and develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for varying time horizons.
  • Validate the Demantra forecast vs. sales plans to identify root cause of gaps.
  • Resolve forecasting gaps through cross-functional collaboration with sales support teams and sales representatives within the S&OP process to align the business and supply chain to develop a true consensus forecast.
  • Analyze factors that impact demand (i.e., category trends, seasonality, cannibalization of base) whether shipment or POS forecasting.
  • Monitor trends in forecast error and make adjustments to future forecasts as needed.
  • Analyze buying patterns of key customers to determine how they will react to promotions in shipment month and subsequent months.
  • Will be required to follow up with the inventory team on related items within each promotion.
  • Work with sales team on display forecasts by customer for a rolling 12-18 months and manage the work flow process with various internal departments.
  • Handle creation of deal work orders in Demantra to drive demand for promotional activity for a specific account as well as the creation in the AS400 to drive the demand for display volume.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the sales team on the top display accounts to track and maintain the display requests, forecasts and pending sales orders, as well as manage the warehouse expectations accordingly.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years in Demand Planning required, S&OP experience preferred
  • Proficient in Excel with the ability to create spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Oracle & AS400 preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must possess excellent analytical, excel and follow-up skills
  • Ability to multitask in fast-pasted and creative environment               
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Work collaboratively with multiple departments with focus on driving results
  • Must be detailed orientated, hands on, and work well in a fast paced evolving environment
