Job Description  

Great opportunity to grow and develop the Sam's Club account for Nature's Bounty.  The Director of Customer Development is responsible for the functional management and leadership of all sales related activities for assigned Nature’s Bounty brands/categories at Sam’s Club.  The Director will develop a more strategic role with top-top meetings and joint business plans.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans in accordance with Corporate goals.
  • Develop and execute Annual Business Planning (ABP) Goals with Sam’s Club.
  • Develop strategies to drive Brands and Category growth for the Vitamin, Mineral, Herb, Supplement (VMHS) and Sports & Active Nutrition) S&AN lines.
  • Direct sales forecasting and projection activities.
  • Manage execution of everyday business in partnership with Sam’s Club, including item setup, maintenance, logistics and inventory management
  • Manage Trade budget and monitor spending efficiency that focus on a strong ROI.
  • Deduction Management
  • Understand Sam’s Club’s go-to-market strategy and how to maximize sales efficiency
  • Maintain, foster, and grow existing and new relationships within Sam’s Club at the executive level including Planner, Buyer and Senior Buyer.   
  • Deliver budget plan and new product distribution goals.
  • Monthly reporting, sales analytics and insights.
  • P&L management within respective account coverage. 

  • 10 + years of National Account sales experience.
  • Sam’s Club experience is required; deep understanding of the Sam’s Club member and how to develop demand creation plans.
  • Must have prior experience using syndicated data to determine customer needs and establish the most effective pricing and promotional activities that will increase sales and market share for the company and its customers.
  • Knowledge regarding Project Management, and experience with setting up and managing projects in a complex, fast-moving environment. 
  • Knowledge regarding relationship management, experience and mindset to work with partners in building initiatives that deliver on goals.
  • Prior category management processes and implementation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed.
  • The demonstrated ability to utilize creativity and push beyond the obvious, comfortable going into “unchartered” territory in setting out recommendations and goals.
  • Problem solver with a solutions oriented mindset.
  • Must be a dynamic leader who can push past obstacles and overcome objections.
  • Understand the value of listening to customers, gaining insights and moving objectives forward.
  • Must be an articulate communicator who can quickly synthesize data.
  • P&L management and strong financial acumen.
  • Ability to negotiate with business partners.
