Job Description

The Nature's Bounty Co., is looking for a Focused Improvement Pillar Director to lead change within all of Supply Chain. The ideal candidate for this newly developed role will be an innovative thinker and master problem solver to drive business results. Do you possess Focused Improvement expertise and proven experience with various problem-solving methodologies? Do you have the ability to develop and deploy an overarching strategy to roll out this methodology through, coaching and developing these capabilities across different levels and functions?

Your objective in this role will be to have the overall responsibility for FI methodology development, deployment, and capability building to support the implementation of the Pillar across all of Supply Chain in alignment with our High-Performance Work System Deployment strategy. 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Standardize FI methods and tools and ensure deployment is consistent across the sites and functions
  • Calibrate and assess site pillar teams and work groups to uphold defined standards
  • Develop Loss Analysis and problem-solving capability across the network
  • Develop capability in identification, analysis, and elimination of losses in all areas of Supply Chain
  • Establish, deploy, execute and govern the FI Pillar Methodology across all sites 
  • Develop and manage the FI Master Plan linked to delivery of business results
  • Deliver Loss Trees for all levels of the organization
  • Develop and deploy systems and tools to deliver the FI Strategy across the organization 
  • Benchmark sites according to FI pillar implementation
  • Define and deliver capability building plans for skill development of sites and teams
  • Carry out visits to the sites for analyzing gaps, to support and creating alignment 
  • Train and coach the FI pillar leaders at the site level 
  • Cooperate with other pillars, initiatives, departments and CI group to deliver and integrate HPWS strategy for all sites
  • Identify and support cross-functional DMAIC projects to target complex losses
  • Develop and maintain a reliable Productivity Tracker for Supply Chain
  • Ensure that the benefits generated by the projects are properly measured and that the impact on total costs are effectively validated by Finance & Control


  • 15+ years of experience in Supply Chain within Food, Pharma, Cosmetic, CPG and Nutraceuticals 
  • 3+ years leading Six Sigma/DMAIC project and coaching others on DMAIC
  • 5+ years of experience in TPM or High-Performance Organization methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a Scientific or Engineering field. Industrial Engineering preferred
  • At a minimum Greenbelt certification, Black belt or Master Black belt certification preferred
  • Formal training in Operational Excellence methods such as LEAN and TPM
  • Proven mastery of data analytics and problem-solving that delivered clear results
  • Proven experience with multiple data analysis and problem-solving tools and methodologies to include 5-why analysis, 7 step process, DMAIC, Kaizen, Mass balance, Labor analysis, Fishbone, Design of Experiment, Fault tree analysis, simulation, SWOT, FMEA, SIPOC, etc.
  • Highly versed in development of Zero Loss Journey plans at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and coach all levels on effective best practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as lead high performing teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent influencing ability
  • Demonstrated ability of teaching/coaching basic problem-solving tools at all levels
  • Excellent project management and follow up skills including experience leading national initiatives
  • Capacity to integrate and interact with different disciplines (Engineering, Regulatory, Production, QA, Logistics, etc.) and levels (front line to executive)
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, business management software (ORACLE), and production management software (VORNE, AS 400)
  • Willingness to travel (can be up to 70%)
