Job Description  

The Reliability Engineer will identify the proactive maintenance requirements for assets to increase plant productivity, maximize reliability performance in a sustainable way and to capture all opportunities to improve processes while reducing total cost. Serve as a technical resource to the department and works on EHS, Quality, Productivity pipeline projects, as well as asset improvement initiatives. Carry out investigations into failures to eliminate their root causes, follow up with appropriate teams actions required to restore asset integrity, operations and process standards.

Additional responsibilties include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) on safety and ergonomic requirements to all equipment and layouts.
  • Support with technical leadership, facilitate investigation, troubleshoot problems and resolve them by utilizing demonstrated methods for improvement including Lean, TPM or 6σ tools.
  • Determine the function, capability, functional failure modes, probability of failure, impact severity and acceptable risk for assets to define the right maintenance requirements to eliminate functional failures and their effects.
  • Establish a systematic PM review process with support from the Planner to ensure the effectiveness of the existing PM program.
  • Support with reliability knowledge the execution of the asset criticality and constantly look for opportunities to optimize equipment performance within its specifications.
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers. 
  • Conduct CAPA and root cause analysis with multi-functional teams.
  • Ensure appropriate follow up recommendations and actions from the inspection program of assets.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement by utilizing 5s, Kaizen, VSM workshops in order to elevate associates skills and optimize plant uptime.
  • Coordinate strategies and effort towards 100% uptime and driving a zero loss mentality.
  • Lead, as required, the RCFA process using cross – functional teams to ensure appropriate plant modifications are made, reliability improve and maintenance costs reduce.
  • Participate in and take relevant agreed actions within HPS team meetings to ensure equipment capabilities are address and a culture focused on solutions is thriving.
  • Coach site personnel in the reliability work processes 
  • Propose replacement projects based on assessment based conditions for the respective area.
  • Collaborate with other sites/campuses on Best Practices. 
  • Communicate effectively both internally and with all customers to update status.


  • Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Experience in the area of CPG, Pharmaceutical and/or Nutraceutical manufacturing.
  • At least 2-4 years of Plant Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean, TPM, TQM, 6σ or other continuous improvement tools
  • Extensive knowledge of Maintenance Management System, Maintenance processes, and activities.
  • Understanding of operating context of site assets/process systems
  • Ability to develop and conduct training for Reliability topics.
  • Must be conversant with and able to facilitate multiple RCFA processes and FMEA
  • Demonstrated effective systematic problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Must have proven ability to coach site personnel, build technical capabilities and problem-solving skills in both formal and informal settings
  • Experience establishing and leading a team.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
