Job Description  

The Lead Tablet Press Operator is responsible for all documentation and manufacturing activities related to the compression of solid-dose product as per formula instructions and assisting the supervisor on a daily basis. Provides real time review of in-process data and batch documentation in order to limit the need for later review or rework.

***NOTE:  this is a 3rd Shift role.  The work day begins at 10 pm and the work day ends at 6:30 am.  The work week begins Monday evenings and ends Saturday mornings.***

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced
  • Documents tablet press process information as per SOP
  • Consistently reviews in-process batch documentation to ensure real-time compliance to product specifications, good documentation practices, company SOP’s and cGMP’s.
  • Ensures that deviation reports are generated if out-of-specifications are observed
  • Discusses errors directly with department personnel so corrections can be made if required
  • Guides and advises operations associates as necessary on cGMP’s and GDP’s to ensure timely release of product or reaction to issues
  • Matches all labels with batch records
  • Loads and unloads tablet press machine
  • Operates tablet press machinery independently as well as within a team environment
  • Monitors tablet press operation periodically and report any conditions to the manager
  • Manages the department in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager

Qualifications  
  • Experience in the food, pharmaceutical and or supplement industry preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Military experience a plus
  • Prior lead and machine operator experience in a manufacturing setting required  
  • Strong organizational skills, written, oral, interpersonal attention to detail skills are required
  • Ability to write correspondence.  Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions
  • Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge of MS Office programs is required
  • Computer software such as AS400 preferred
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc. within a manufacturing environment
