Job Description

The Nature’s Bounty Co is looking for an experienced intellectual property attorney to support all IP aspects of our business. The Legal Counsel will be responsible for managing Nature’s Bounty’s intellectual property portfolio, drafting and negotiating various IP and IT related agreements, and managing any IP disputes.  This position reports to the Senior Legal Counsel.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•    Manage the intellectual property portfolio of Nature’s Bounty, including preparing and filing U.S. trademark and patent applications (and any related documents), monitoring trademark renewals, and managing foreign IP counsel.
•    Draft and negotiate various IP related agreements, including license agreements and nondisclosure agreements.
•    Provide legal support to business units procuring technology solutions.  Draft and negotiate a variety of software licensing, hardware procurement, and IT services agreements.
•    Assist with contract drafting and review. 
•    Manage and perform patent-related due diligence for commercial transactions.
•    Advise business units on legal matters relating to trademark infringement and other IP disputes.
•    Manage or assist with any IP litigation matters and manage all trademark proceedings.
•    Advise on global intellectual property strategy.
•    Assist on other legal matters and contribute to the overall legal function of risk analysis of the company.
•    Collaborate with various business units on matters related to corporate policies, company programs and projects and other company business.



Qualifications

Experience:
•    5+ years of intellectual property experience, preferably a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
•    Proficient in all aspects of intellectual property law.
•    Privacy and data protection experience is a plus.
•    Knowledge of and experience with trademark database software.

Education, Certification, Licenses & Registrations:
•    JD, with excellent academic credentials.
•    Admission and member in good standing of the New York bar.

Skills:

•    Strong negotiating and drafting skills. 
•    Sound judgment and exceptional problem-solving skills. 
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a timely manner.
