Job Description  

The Mechanic A maintains and repairs equipment and helps develop solutions. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoots, assesses and repairs most manufacturing/facilities issues in a timely manner without supervision
  • Takes care of all refrigeration machines, etc.
  • Interprets blueprints and schematics
  • Operates machinery such as lathes, mills, drill presses and all power and hand tools
  • Instruct other mechanics
  • Basic to advance knowledge of electrical circuits and PLCs
  • Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guidelines
Note: This is a 2nd Shift opportunity. Hours are Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. There is a shift differential for this position. 
Qualifications  
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Military experience a strong plus
  • Experience working in and around mechanical equipment, preferably in a food/pharmaceutical/nutriceutical environment
  • High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc. within a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, to stand/walk throught the duration of the shift, to see controls, computer screen, machine panels, paperwork, etc., and able to squat, kneel, climb to make necessary adjustment/fix to machinery
