Job Description

The Corporate Development Manager will be an integral part of the Strategic Initiatives Team at The Nature’s Bounty Co., tasked with supporting growth and profitability through supporting transactions and/or strategic initiatives.  Note that the Manager can be based in either Ronkonkoma, NY, or Florham Park, NJ.

Strategic initiatives global mandate includes the coordination of acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and other growth/profitability models for the company, as well as the evaluation of potential acquisition targets and management of deal structures and negotiations.

This role will provide an opportunity to develop strategies and business cases that support corporate and/or business level strategies and opportunities.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Working with business units to prioritize strategic objectives and evaluate partnership and acquisition opportunities against identified strategies.
  • Evaluating potential transactions and business cases from strategic, operational and financial valuation perspectives.
  • Perform detailed and comprehensive financial valuation analysis, mergers and acquisitions, pro forma analysis, build vs. buy analysis, market models, etc. for business opportunities.
  • Preparation of effective presentations with responsibility for the quality of content and a strong attention detail.
  • Prepare memorandums and presentation materials for senior management and Board of Directors for transaction approval process.
  • Business development and concurrently overseeing deliverables.
  • Setting strategic direction for complex analytics such as financial analysis and modeling, operational performance improvement analysis, operating model analysis, etc.
  • Assist in proactively researching the relevant markets and consumer categories, understanding the competitive situation and identifying new opportunities.
  • Manage due diligence process for strategic initiatives including interaction with buyers, sellers, or internal stakeholders.
  • Develop marketing materials including information memorandums and management presentations.
  • Project management of transactions to maximize results throughout the deal including day-to-day coordination and management of deal teams across businesses / regions and functional areas.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the standards and methodologies utilized in M&A or other strategic initiatives.
  • Organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the final deliverable to global leadership team.
  • Will be assigned a wide variety of projects.
  • Preparing and communicating recommendations to Senior Management.


Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of prior experience as an analyst or associate (or similar roles) in investment banking, financial services, corporate development or management consulting
  • Experience with financial analysis, modeling and reporting (DCF, LBO, Merger Analysis, etc.), market analysis and gathering competitive intelligence; Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Ability to build complex financial models to analyze transactions is a must
  • Understanding of cross-functional and functional coordination (IT, HR, Finance, Legal, Commercial, Operations, Environmental Health & Safety, etc.)
  • Experience with strategic due diligence concepts such as Porter’s Five Forces, Value Chain Analysis, SWOT Analysis, Global Strategies/International Expansion, Product Life Cycle, and Competitive Profile Matrix
  • Experience with commercial due diligence concepts such as Market Sizing, Market Segmentation, Market Attractiveness, Customer Win/Loss Vintage Analysis, Customer Profitability, Competitive Position, and Supplier Concentration
  • Familiarity with financial due diligence concepts such as Quality of Earnings, Net Debt, Working Capital Analysis, and Financial Projections Assessments
  • Familiarity with the development of investment thesis documents
  • Outstanding relationship management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities and stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration skills – ability and willingness to hear alternative points of view, critically evaluate, and incorporate as appropriate to improve the quality and depth of deliverables
  • Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to manage a portfolio of projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an top-tier college/university, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or other related field
