Job Description  

The Global Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for managing supplier performance and driving improvements. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with cross functional teams, as well as suppliers, ensuring specifications and other requirements are communicated
  • Ensure suppliers remain within regulatory guidelines and other compliances, resulting zero recall
  • Manage brand items outsourcing project
  • Execute Quality and Compliance Agreements 
  • Participate in new Product Development initiatives, working with Research & Development, Technical Services, Nutritional & Label and Supply Chain
  • Conduct supplier site risk assessment and audits,Quality Management Systems (QMS), Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) risk assessment 
  • Develop and implement supplier batch records review process that includes all contract supplier's different capabilities batch records review and then monitor at regular interval
  • Ensure applicable Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 110 and 111 compliance
  • Maintain zero recall from suppliers
  • Communicate and ensure that the company supplier quality management program is implemented by suppliers
  • Review Global Supplier Quality (GSQ) initial samples meeting with specification, label, bill of materials (BoM), Certificate of Analysis (COA) verified
  • Manage timely lot release interacting with other functions, Distribution Centers and follow up with suppliers
  • Lead supplier non-conformance report (NCR) process that help drive improvement
  • Review and manage deviation, out-of-scope and investigation 
  • Perform supplier performance, quality rating, NCR data analysis, generate action items applying quality tools and techniques, work with suppliers to implement effective and sustainable corrective and preventive action (CAPA)
  • Ensure applicable customer requirements are met by supplier sites with adequate registration and 3rd party audit
  • Review consumer comments internal reports and ensure applicable steps taken to address supplier related issues to continually improve 
  • Guide and manage supplier compliance with the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), applicable Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) rules
  • Keep track of current FDA industry findings and trends
  • Proactively improve supplier quality management program by developing procedures and instructions, staying ahead of regulations and customer expectations

  • 7+ years of experience managing suppliers engaged in food, dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals products processing
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology and/or pharmacy
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Strong experience with the regulations related to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 110 and 111 compliance for Dietary Supplements
  • Implementation of ISO 19011 audit principles, procedures and techniques
  • HACCP certification and Lead Auditor certification preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ERP systems and MS Office including Project, Visio and Access
  • Demonstrated ability to implement quality tools and techniques to analyze data & trends, helping supplier high ratings and improve continually to be efficient
  • Quick learner, organized and self-starter taking full ownership of assigned tasks
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
  • Continuously look for ways to improve, while maintaining high quality standards
