Job Description

The Manager, Technical Accounting & Reporting, is a key member of the accounting team who manages the financial reporting department and the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting.  In addition, this role supports Corporate Accounting and various other departments within the Company by sharing knowledge and providing technical accounting research and guidance.  This role will report to the Controller and drive improved controls and efficiencies in the reporting process.                                                                          
 

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the quarterly and annual reports process and associated consolidated financial statements, footnotes, management's discussion and analysis and supporting schedules
  • Ensure that all filing deadlines are met and all regulatory and GAAP requirements are fulfilled
  • The evaluation of all significant accounting transactions, research and implementation of relevant accounting technical standards, and preparation of technical accounting memos supporting all accounting positions
  • Support the domestic and international accounting teams by designing processes and controls around significant accounting events, and transferring knowledge to relevant accounting teams
  • The evaluation of all new accounting standards and updates impacting financial reporting, as well as the implementation of the new accounting requirements and communication with affected teams throughout the business
  • Support financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements
  • Support the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of all regular and ad hoc management reports
  • Coach, mentor and manage the performance of direct report(s)
  • Identify short and long term training and development needs for all team members
  • Participate in the recruitment process, develop Associates for career progression
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience, with a demonstrated track record of success
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience with an emphasis on SEC reporting clients
  • Expert level knowledge in accounting rules and regulations and in the application of those rules and regulations to a wide range of business activities
  • Experience in leading and personally driving change and implementing best practices
  • Strong communication skills; able to convey a message that is clear and concise linking business issues, financial results and strategy
  • Experience with AS400, Oracle Accounting systems a plus •        
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
