Job Description

The Nutrition and Scientific Affairs Department of The Nature’s Bounty Co. is seeking a highly motivated, open-minded senior college student majoring in Nutrition Science, Natural Medicine, Life Sciences related to Human Biology/Physiology(graduate student is preferred but not required) to join our team in the summer internship program.

The internship is a great opportunity for the student to learn how a nutrition scientist works in the food/dietary supplement industry. The experience at The Nature’s Bounty Co. will help the student to translate nutrition knowledge/research skills learned in school to products/services that are meaningful for consumers and the business. The real-world experience will also be beneficial for the student to find the appropriate career path after graduation. 

  • Help perform literature searches using scientific databases for active ingredients within The Nature’s Bounty Co. portfolio

  • Help perform new dietary supplement ingredient review for innovation

  • Analyze clinical trials for safety and efficacy and provide feedback to the Nutrition & Scientific Affairs Subject Matter Expert

  • Learn how to analyze structure-function claims and determine if they are supported by scientific literature

  • Develop ideas for new claims and products to gain experience in product formulation and development

  • Work with Nutrition & Scientific Affairs Subject Matter Experts to review labels and product ideations

  • Attend meetings with vendors/suppliers and other departments to gain experience in business interactions

Qualifications

Undergraduate student with a Nutrition Science or related major

3.5 or greater Cumulative GPA

Rising junior or senior
