Job Description

Puritan's Pride, the Direct to Consumer arm of The Nature's  Bounty Co., is seeking a Planner. 

As our next Planner you will be responsible for creating and implementing corporate master production schedules for Bulk manufacturing or Finished Good packaging to support sales demand forecasts. Product area(s) in scope include outside packaging and/or manufacturing. As a Planner you have a direct link to vendors to support business requirements.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited too: 

  • Create and maintain vendor production requirements using the Oracle planning systems to ensure sufficient inventory levels and on-time customer delivery. 
  • Leverage various tools to monitor health of the plan, including, but not exclusive to exception reports and months on hand inventory reports.
  • Collaborate regularly with vendors to ensure delivery of open purchase orders, address issues and minimize risk.
  • Monitor and analyze information available to ensure adequate inventory levels at different warehouses as well as required components and bulk held at the vendor. 
  • Monitor and update system planning parameters as required.
  • Advise the Commercial teams on any shortages/excesses of inventory levels and the appropriate action required.
  • Responsible for reconciling the variances of physical count against the perpetual records at vendor locations.
  • Responsible for feedback and identification of counter measures for any CFR issues and/or inventory risk, as part of Management Reporting.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure product availability, such as Procurement, Quality, Inventory Management and Brand.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


  •  Bachelor’s degree preferred, or other closely related discipline with experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant industry experience with consumer packaged goods and consumer products required. 
  • Knowledge and experience with external planning tools (i.e. JDA, Oracle, SAP, Etc.). 
  • In depth knowledge of MS Excel is required; including knowledge of formulas & AS400 preferred. 
  • Supply Chain experience preferred. 
  • Self-starter - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. 
  • Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed. 
  • Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions. 
  • Exhibit positive attitude regarding work and responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively within internal teams.
  • Maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
  • You continuously look for ways to do things faster and better, while maintaining high quality standards.
