Job Description

The Specialist, Merchandising supports the objectives of the DTC merchandising organization within Puritan’s Pride.  This individual will support the Category Managers by assisting in all aspects of day-to-day merchandising and marketing activities. 

Responsibilities:

  • New Items management responsibility at the item level as assigned by the respective Category Manager:
  • o   Contact vendor for samples, label pdfs, new item forms
  • o   New Vendors: Send vendor appropriate forms and set-up for Puritan’s Pride.
  • o   Price changes, new products, category changes.
  • o   Update price file
  • o   Create new categories for sales
  • o   Once new product in stock, monitor to ensure it gets on the website.
  • Manage copy at item level: submit, track approval, add to web.
  • Manage website images at item level: request renders, third party samples, upload to web.  Maintain status list.
  • Price changes & add/removes: add price changes and new products as assigned by Category Manager.
  • Assist with problem solving of any customer service/Contact Center issues or challenges.
  • Assist Category Managers with relevant reports, category, and web reviews.
  • Submit manuscript updates as needed and as directed by Category Managers.
  • Change Control: Item label maintenance through our Change Control process, and enter changes into our PLM system where applicable.
  • Manage item deletes, re-activations and other PLM related issues with direction from Category Managers.
  • Assist in catalog proofing.
  • Monitor website and proof categories, items and copy; updating where applicable.
  • Assist Category Managers with development of promotions for featured product categories and specific products. Promotions will span multiple channels, and will be coordinated with the marketing team for execution.
  • Manage 3rd Party Strategy; working with Category Managers to launch new 3rd party products, market and future delete (FD) when necessary.
  • Future Delete Process:  Manage quarterly FD process.  Execute FD’s from Category Managers, Markdown, Monitor Pricing and Inventory and work with warehouse team.
  • Overstock and Liquidations: Monitor overstocks monthly and work with Category Managers and Pricing to sell through overstock items.
  • Innovation Marketing Support: Create sell sheets and assist with marketing and product launches.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Work experience within marketing, category management, consumer packaged goods product management
  • Direct to Consumer business experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with focus in Marketing, Sales, Multi-Channel preferred; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, sales, e-commerce and negotiation skills
  •  Financial acumen
  • Excellent verbal, written and research skills
  • Resourceful with a strong attention to detail
