Job Description  

We are looking for great sales leaders in various regions to drive our growing business at designated retailers.  The Senior Manager of Customer Development is responsible for the strategic functional management, leadership and execution of all sales related activities for their assigned Customers within the channel’s region. The accounts supported are focus accounts within the region and expected to develop a more strategic role with top meetings and joint business plans. This is a remote role ideally in the New Jersey or Massachussets areas.

The individual will support the team with The Nature’s Bounty Co. systems (TIM) and with customers systems (ie: MPULSE, pricing system, etc.) 

•    Deliver target budget plan and new product distribution goals.
•    Execute our brand and category growth strategy that align with the customer.
•    Identify new opportunities for growth; develop and implement strategic sales plans in accordance with corporate goals.
•    Develop account specific programs that align with the customers strategic plans that help with profitable growth. 
•    Maintain clear understanding of customer objectives, and liaise with Regional Vice President (RVP) to develop operational plans to manage execution and measure results.  
•    Relationship management with accounts cross functional areas, Corporate and divisions.  
Access to top customer executives within assigned strategic customers and ongoing meetings and access to DMM’s and VP of merchandising.  
•    Foster and grow existing and new relationships within account, gaining a deep understanding of current and potential future needs of our customers.
•    Educate our business partners on our products, retail goals, and develop measurement and KPI’s to help with growth.  
•    Deliver customer presentations that show innovation, shelf positioning, promotions, communicate pricing, etc. 
•    Manage daily business in partnership with customers, including: UPC product/item setup, maintenance, logistics and inventory management.
•    Sell-in new products and all promotions to qualified retailers; ensure full-line distribution of products (new & existing items). 
•    Work with customers to implement retail initiatives and monitor retail standards.
•    Ongoing contract management that focuses on strategic alignment and designed to strengthen both the customer and The Nature's Bounty Co market position. 
•    Work with assigned broker to ensure deduction management is within our assigned goals. 
•    Responsible for working with agencies to input Trade Investment Management (TIM): system input, trade fund management, direct sales forecasting and projection activities for the company.  
•    Manage Trade budget and monitor spending efficiency that focus on a strong ROI.
•    Monthly reporting, sales analytics and insights; understand go-to-market strategy and how to maximize sales efficiency.
•    P&L management within respective account coverage. 
•    Perform other duties as required. 
 


Qualifications  

•    10+ years’ experience; minimum 2 years National account sales experience and sales strategy preferred.
•    Sales experience in the Convenience, Grocery, Drug and/or Mass retail channel(s) a plus. 
•    Experience in consumer goods, vitamins and supplements is highly preferred.
•    Prior experience using syndicated data to determine customer needs and establish the most effective pricing and promotional activities that will increase sales and market share for the company and its customers.
•    Knowledge regarding Project Management, and experience with setting up and managing projects in a complex, fast-moving environment.
•    Knowledge regarding relationship management, experience and mindset to work with partners in building initiatives that deliver on goals.
•    Category management and strong analytical background is preferred. 
•    Strong senior and cross functional relationships with assigned accounts
•    Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
•    Ability to build relationships and senior level engagement
•    High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills
•    Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
•    Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed
•    The ability to utilize creativity and push beyond the obvious, comfortable going into “unchartered” territory in setting out recommendations, goals
•    Problem solver with a solutions oriented mindset
•    Must be a dynamic leader who can push past obstacles, overcome objections
•    Understand the value of listening to customers, gaining insights and moving objectives forward
•    Must be an articulate communicator who can quickly synthesize data
•    P&L management and strong financial acumen
•    Bachelor's degree in business or related field required, MBA a plus.
•    Overnight travel required
