Job Description  

The Senior Manager of Merchandising Strategy will lead the development of our retail strategy and execution of in-store shopper based merchandising solutions.  This will include combining shopper research, consumer insights, and marketing strategy to deliver the 'look of success' for The Nature’s Bounty Co. at retail.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development of best-in-class Merchandising Strategies to include visual design and shelving strategies; permanent, semi-permanent fixturing & displays; procurement and design of temporary merchandising aids (shelftalkers, clings, posters, etc.)
  • Project management & program execution working with cross-functional partners and approved merchandising suppliers
  • Lead efforts to understand all internal costs and ROI of displays (including fulfillment fees and Trade Investment)
  • Provide merchandising expertise that builds relationships, improves collaboration and increases participation in programs to leverage spend and identify productivity opportunities
  • Relationship management with clients and partners to ensure on-strategy, branded & differentiated merchandising solutions
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders in order to influence business decision-making, including the presentation of design and test concepts to retail partners for implementation in store
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop and deliver innovative, high quality and value engineered solutions that drive revenue, profit and share
  • Implement process improvement where necessary to drive agility and efficiency
  • Manage team of associates responsible for ordering materials and administrative program setup

  • 7+ years of experience in the consumer goods industry with a focus on Visual Merchandising, Commercialization, Sales/Customer Management, Channel Strategy, and/or Shopper Marketing
  • Retail experience working with merchandising materials or Direct experience managing, or working for, design agencies and/or production suppliers in the development and commercialization of merchandising materials
  • Creative inventor of new strategies, processes, practices and programs
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills
  • High level of ownership, accountability and initiative
  • Ability to analyze information, identify root causes and develop/implement approved solutions
  • Skilled at translating consumer insights data into actionable merchandising strategy, to negotiate pricing (vendor management); effectively set priorities, multi task and work effectively within a cross-functional, changing environment
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite applications, database information sources, and web applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within teams
  • Ability to be agile and maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment
  • Continuously look for ways to do things faster and better, while maintaining high quality standards
  • Creative and intellectually curious; tries different and novel ways to solve obstacles
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; a MBA is preferred
  • Minimal overnight travel required
