Job Description  

Under the direction of the VP of Sales Strategy, the Senior Manager of Sales Training is responsible for providing sales training to associates and/or brokers to maintain a consistent approach to account management and ensure that they all have adequate brand, product and go-to-market strategy knowledge.  This is a remote position and can be home based near a major airport. 

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide training resources for associates and/or brokers
  • Assess needs, align training strategies based on those needs, and develop curriculum and associate strategies
  • Provide oversight on new hire on-boarding, product launches, market dynamics, and additional focus areas
  • Conducting skills gap analysis to identify areas of improvement
  • Work closely with sales associates and/or brokers to identify challenges they face on-the-job and recommend ways to increase productivity
  • Increase the overall performance of our sales teams and ensure they have the skills to achieve their goals
  • Monitor sales objectives and results
  • Collect feedback from trainees and managers about training courses
  • Report on impact of training programs (e.g. sales achieved)
  • Liaise with external trainers, agencies and industry professionals 
  • This is an individual contributor role without direct reports
  • 70% travel; can be located within the US near a major airport

  • 7+ years of Sales Trainer experience within the CPG industry focused on internal associates and brokers
  • Strong understanding of the customer base inclusive of both wholesale and .com go-to-market strategies
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer facing key account sales position within the CPG industry
  • Must be able to create content and/or leverage agencies
  • Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.  Certification in training is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the consumer products industry, and category/brand/go-to-market strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively resolve competing priorities and to work effectively within a cross-functional, changing environment
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite applications, database information sources, and web applications is required
