Job Description

The Maintenance Team Member will perform a complete range of maintenance activities including repair and service activities and providing basic mechanical and electrical training to other Associates. This Associate follows all safety practices while working with preventive and productive maintenance systems to meet team and company goals.



Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment
  • Coach and influence other associates to identify and resolve safety related issues
  • Demonstrates general understanding of industrial safety practices and regulations, and in particular such topics as: Lock-out/Tag-out procedures, fall protection, personal protective equipment, and all other mandatory safety procedures related to the job
  • Assist in Developing One Point Lesson (OPL) and Standards Operational Procedures (SOPs) as needed
  • Keeps machines in good working conditions to enhance efficiency and prevent malfunctions that could lead to costly repairs or unplanned losses to production
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
  • Adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced
  • Cleans and lubricates machinery, performs basic diagnostic tests, performance checks, and tests damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Understand product (bulks and components) flow
  • Performs equipment change over effectively and efficiently
  • Participates in Daily Management Systems (DMS) meetings
  • Solve problem with the teams
  • Use Reference Resources “work books and drawings” use technical manuals, their understanding of industrial equipment, and careful observation to discover the cause of a problem
  • Maintains a cleaned and organized work area, maintenance shop, parts and supplies area.
  • Electrical:  perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment; troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment; evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs and maintenance, able to replace and rewire electrical motors (single phase, 3 phase); test all assemblies, installations, or repairs on electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures; diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and tools, to locate the cause of a problem; troubleshoot control cabinet; replace input-output modules, VFD's and understand/tune PID's; troubleshoots, repairs and replaces electronic components such as: relays, contactors, switches, encoders, proximity sensors etc
  • Mechanical:  inspects, repairs, and tests the machinery; uses advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose the root of the problem; assists in or performs technical inspections of industrial machinery within the facility and document their activities, when not engaged in active repair operations; modifies and/or replaces parts on all production and facility equipment as needed; also calculates the speed ration, sprocket sizes, and gear box size when modifying, replacing or repairing gearbox assembly; welding, carpentry, plumbing etc. as needed at this level
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic:  maintains replaces and repairs all pneumatic/ hydraulic equipment and troubleshoot complex pneumatic system issues
  • Plant Systems:  monitor and maintain boilers, air compressors, ammonia compressors, air conditioning; dust collectors, and other plant utility systems; identify energy loss and correct issues

  • 5+ years of maintenance professional experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Military experience a plus
  • Mechanical/electrical trade background, Journeyman or equivalent technical school background desired
  • A working knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) strongly recommended
  • High School Diploma preferred or equivalent
  • Basic math, writing and typing skills; strong general mechanical aptitude; good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be flexible, customer focused, and able to work highly effectively on a self-directed team
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
